One of my recent prize finds at a yard sale was this water jug. H and I had been wanting a large glass container to store our drinking water, but at Sur La Table this was $70! Never. gonna. happen. So, with a 19 liter water jug on my mind, the Lord brought me right to it for only $5. Perfect condition. The exact one we wanted. Only 12 times less!
Lastly, I found a much needed platter in our every day dish pattern (Mikasa Italian Countryside) for only 50 cents. It's currently on sale at Macy's for $69.99. For all you statistics junkies, that's 1/140 of the new price! Just in time for the holidays.
It's fairly simple to be thrifty, especially with God on your side. "...And He shall give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4

Love these treasures. I like white pumpkins too. Don't know why I don't have one. I keep looking at them but haven't purchased one yet. Maybe someday. The little pink dress in the Vintage post is so pretty. How neat that it is being passed down from generation to generation.
Wow, that water jug is EXCELLENT. I really love that. Is it super heavy?
I love your pumpkins! It's so wonderful how you were led to find the platter and water jug at such wondeful prices...PTL!
The jug IS really heavy. Not the type of thing we'll move around much!
Love all of your bargain finds! I am amazed at how many bargains you find! I'm envious.
I don't know what it is about pumpkins, but I really love them too. Maybe it's because they're the universal symbol for Fall, and harvest, and Thanksgiving.
I also really liked your little pink dress post; it's so neat to have heirlooms like that in the family... very nice! I've missed your blog Diane!
I love love love the pumpkins, what a wonderful collection!
We're going to the pumkin patch today, woohoo! I'm really into the white pumpkins too and also the bluish grey airloom ones :)
I can't believe the sales you found! Makes you not want to shop retail ever again, doesn't it?
I think I've seen those pumpkins before. Say that water jug looks like the one they had at the Blue Line Gallery opening. Remember the one where some one unscrewed the spout and the water was pouring on the floor!!!!
I love that water jug. That's a really great find. It's so nice to find things you've been wanting/needing, isn't it? :)
