Sometimes Christmas feels like an exit that I just missed on the freeway. Whoops, there is went! Ours was a wonderful holiday, but it passed too quickly. I hope that you and yours had a very Merry Christmas.
For Christmas, my dear H gave me this newer version of Sense and Sensibility on dvd by the BBC. (Say that three times fast!) Recommended by a friend, it's an excellent movie version of Jane Austen's first published novel.
I was still skeptical upon hearing about another version of Sense and Sensibility after seeing Emma Thompson's version from 1995. But for Jane junkies, like myself, refusing an opportunity to watch/read more Jane Austen is incomprehensible. So I watched it. I was pleasantly surprised. The BBC version is truer to the book. And while Emma Thompson's portrayal of Elinor when she finds gushing relief from Edward's revelation that he is unmarried and no longer engaged, has to be one of my top 10 favorite movies scenes, I do highly recommend the 2008 version.
Since I've had requests, and I'm always looking for a way to celebrate Jane, Sense and Sensibility text bangles are now added to the lineup in my shop.

Hi! I just popped by via your comment on simple beauty's blog and I just wanted to say that I love sense and sensibility as well! I'm gonna have to watch this one, too! Thanks! : )
It would be so great if we just had a "girls evening" and ate popcorn and watched your new version!
I own this and love to watch it, too! Isn't it great?

Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers on my adventure to find my Boaz! It is always heart warming to know that people are praying and do care!! I LOVE your blog! You are extremely creative and your party ideas were amazing! We had an Abby Cadabby Party for my little darling. My mother is a wonderful artist and drew a very colorful nearly two year old sized Abby! It is now hanging in the closet so that my little one can look at her when she is falling asleep, she loves ABBY. Isn't two a fun age ;O) What a blessing... I will be stopping by your blog often, Have a blessed and very Happy New Year :o)

Wow, thanks for posting that clip - I had forgotten about that scene. Wonderful!
Funny, we just watched Becoming Jane last night... I liked her books better than her life story, LOL. Jane Austen rocks.
BTW, I liked the BBC version of Pride & Prejudice better too (Colin Firth, hello!) :)
I love Jane Austen too; I'm quite jealous! What a score!
Also, I LOVE the skirt in your last post. VERY, VERY impressive!
FYI, Wuthering Heights will be on PBS this Sunday night, 9p.m. Not my favorite, but Masterpiece Theatre is a favorite!
