I've Been Tagged...

by Vintage Mommy. She has a great list, btw. My job: post 7 random or weird facts about myself. Your job: Read, but don't be frightened.

1. In 6th grade, I paper cut my right eye. (I know, Ew!) One week later -the day I got my patch off- I paper cut my left eye while showing someone how I did it the first time. (Double Ew.)

2. As a child, I was determined that my family should win Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes. We did. 4th place. They sent me a black "Star of India" semi-precious stone as our prize. My parents had it set in a ring for me. (An unfortunate notable difference between 1st and 4th place.)

3. I collect postcards. Your vacation or mine, doesn't matter.

4. Many people have asked me if I'm from Minnesota because of my "accent" (don't have one, California born and raised.) Yet when I travel, I've been mistaken as french (I'm not) due to my russian-spy looking passport and driver's license photo. (Sample conversation: Do you like croissants? Yeah, you BETcha! Been to the Eiffel Tower? Niet.)

5. To further confuse my international-ness, I recently realized that when I talk to myself, I have a british accent. (Still not british and I've never been to the U.K.)

6. Leaf blowers drive me crazy. Just. Don't. Like. Them.

7. (Dieters please skip this one, it will just make you angry.) Food has very little impact on me (unless it's ice cream) and I frequently forget to eat. It just feels like a chore!

I must now tag others. They are: Miranda, Mary, Katie, Patty, Ma, Danielle and Jamie.

Thanks for tagging me. I'm going to have to sit down and think about interesting facts about myself. You and Vintage Mommy had really great ones. Your paper cut story made me laugh - well they all made me laugh, actually.

Yes, fried pickles. YUM. I'm sure you could heat a quart or two of canola oil on the stove and drop some batter-coated pickles (I slice them into chips) into the hot oil and fry your husband up some pickles in no time ;) Or, if you have a Sonic near you, I heard they have brought back the fried pickle to their menu.

Wait - are you in Cali? Never mind - I don't think they have Sonics there.

Those are some pretty funny things, Diane. Especially that you talk to yourself with a British accent! LOL

OK, I thought of 7 weird things about myself. I tried to keep it toned down so no one would know just how weird I am! It actually turned out to be fun. My only problem is that I don't know 7 bloggers. I tried, though.

That was a fun read!

Okay, I'll try to come up with 7 random or weird facts about myself. I'm a pretty weird chick so it shouldn't be too tough!

You know how you think you can tell the sound of someone's voice just by looking at them? I swear I thought "Minnesota accent" when I first saw your picture! Why in the world would I think that? Strange, isn't it?

Disgusting paper cut story, by the way. It made me cringe and then my eyes teared up.

Oh, Diane...that eyeball thing is nasty!

I am having a hard time thinking...hmmm, I'm sure I'll come up with something.

Although, like casch, I don't think I have seven bloggers to tag. I'll try to get to this today.

Thanks for the extra fun!

I have this vague memory of someone papercutting their eye when I was in school. Did we know each other 30 yrs ago?? Wait a minute... you're from Calif? What part? I love that you talk to yourself in a British accent. I think you're insane but I still love that. Thanks for tagging me! I've done this before so I try to think of seven new things when I do it. Give me a little time to come up with some new facts.

I do not know how you came up with such great tid bits to share ... I just completed my seven and it took me over night to come up with my poor excuses for interesting information! The eye story is the absolute sickest and best!

Okay, I hardly EVER laugh out loud at things I'm reading, but your paper cut incident did it for me...so thanks!
