Blurry Poppies

This is my latest sewing project. A little dress o' poppies for Charlotte. Since it looks much cuter on the model than on the hanger, I tried to get some pictures. Yeah, right. If you know my daughter at all, then you know that she runs everywhere. There is very little walking on her part. Also note said blanket from the previous post. This dress is made very similar to the pillowcase dress, but this was not a pillowcase. It's brand new fabric that I just had to have because of the sweet little poppies. I added matching, single-fold bias trim and a rosette with a flower center button. Very sweet on our girl. When she first put it on, she sort of pranced around the living room. She is all girl. And I did get her to hold still for a moment, but here's the view:
The idea of nosing through the contents of Grandma's purse will stop her in her tracks. And the shoes were not my idea. I won't get into it but, she is all about shoes. Like I said, all girl.

The dress is adorable!! You can tell she is a busy little girl. In your first picture she is running! Thank goodness for Grandma's purse. She is all girl, just like her Mommy was.

Diane, you are alive! Long time, no post!

The dress is ADORABLE, and so is Charlotte. So, are you a self-taught seamstress, or have you had some guidance? VERY impressive for those of us who can hardly sew a button back on!

Thanks, Mary. I am no seamstress, unlike my grandmother, from whom I inherited my sewing machine. My goal is to take some kind of class/es to learn more. I'm too impatient to actually teach myself very much. And I don't allow myself mistakes...something I have to work on! Buttons are a good starting point :)

We love the dress, and we love the model. (and we love the shoes) Charlotte is our little angel.

Well, for someone with no official training, you're an AMAZING seamstress!

Are you a type A personality too?

Super cute!

I'm really enjoying your blog! I can't wait to try a pillowcase dress for my little neighbor.

Keep up the good work!

Aw, such a cute little girlie in her lovely little dress. Somehow I don't think my boys would go for it though... I might have to try one for my little niece.

Aww, Charlotte is adorable as is the dress! My little girl is about to start walking any day now and I have a feeling I will be dealing with the same thing. The running that is, don't quite know yet about the prancing and the shoes... I can only hope ;)
