Today, my husband accepted a job transfer (out of state) to Seattle, Washington.
We are excited about the change that God is bringing in our lives. We are also feeling a bit overwhelmed due to the timing of our move.
December will be a long transition month for us. We have to sell our house, pack everything in boxes, oh, and have a baby. Our second child is due December 9th and my husband must report to work, in Seattle, on December 14th. We will likely be separated for several weeks until I am able to travel up with our children. This may be the hardest part of our journey as we are always together. Since the day we started dating, we've seen each other everyday, except one.
We are especially happy about the city we're moving to, as we honeymooned in Seattle nearly 5 years ago. We're really not beach people... we're more forest-y people. It's a good fit. Now we just have to convince all the grandparents the same thing :)

Congratulations, but, WOW! That's going to be difficult. I wish you the best of luck on your move and brief separation from your sweetie.
Oh my goodness! What a surprise! It sounds like that will be a wondeful move for you! I've had to move while pregnant, and while one of my children was just a few weeks old. It is deffinately not the easiest thing to do, but is moving every easy, really? I think the Lord will bless you both during this wonderful time of transition, and just remember to stop every half and hour and put your feet up for a little bit!
Very exciting! :)
I needed this post.
MUST go now and hug the grandkids a little closer.
Seattle seems like just the kind of place that family will LOVE to come visit!
Seattle is my favorite city. I'm so happy for your family!
Only one day apart from your husband!?!? Wow! That is great! Never been to Seattle but I hear it is beautiful!
Good for you guys! I bet G&G are disappointed...they will just have to come visit! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
Oh Diane, I think that is SUPER SAD! I'm sure you will love Seattle, but I bet both sets of parents are having a really hard time with the idea of letting you go. You guys will be SO missed!
WOW!!!!!
Congratulations to you guys. I wish you the very best and hope it all works out splendidly with as little stress as possible.
What a super bummer for all of us!
I forgot to say that your 32-week baby belly is THE CUTEST BELLY EVER!!!
And, I'm still sad about your news!
Yikes, timing is everything, eh?! It seems moving and baby having often end up going hand in hand for some reason. We moved into our place the week before I had Clover, granted we were only moving a block away but still...
WOW, Seattle... that's big and exciting. Good luck to you and your family and I hope you love it up there, it is a beautiful area :)
:( :( :(
That's all I can say.
That~and I cherish every single second with all of you~you know, like I didn't before~~:) :) Yeah, right.
You are wished much good luck and you know you wil be sorely missed!
Sad doesn't describe it.
Wow! What a time to move! Your babe born in a new city, your husband getting a great new job! AND you can go to Mars Hill Church!
I keep checking your blog to see if you changed your mind!
Okay, since you know that you're going to be missed, I'll try to just be gracious and positive about the whole thing from now on.
YAY! SEATTLE IS AWESOME! YAY! The next time Jon and I visit Seattle, we will have friends to meet us for lunch. YAY!!!
Mary, you are doing better than I am.
Oh wow! You will have your work cut out for you but you can do it. :) My friends lived in Seattle and loved it.
I read your post about the gestational diabetes. I was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. The first thing I asked was whether I could get still get pregnant and my doctor was very encouraging and said that he was treating several woman who were doing very well and many in the past with healthy bouncing babies. :) Good luck!!
wishing you so much luck with everything. I found that telling the grandparents and leaving the grandparents was the hardest part of our move. I just moved south from Bainbridge Island in case you have any questions about that side of the Puget Sound.
Just checking in...wondering how you and sumo baby are doing! I'm sure packing isn't the best job for you right now...still praying...not much longer!!!!
