I hesitate to admit this, but I was a crafter that had no glue gun. For shame! After a yard sale outting on Saturday morning, I finally joined the ranks of millions of other crafters by adding the glue gun to my tool box... for .25 cents, including the glue sticks. Also, worth the wait.
Just as the doors opened at 9 a.m. sharp, I entered a church rummage sale. About 10 seconds later, a woman announced that everything was 50% off. The prices were already excellent, so this was a pure bonus. I beelined it to the craft section. Behold, there was yarn. Not craft yarn, but real merino wool yarn. Each skein still had original tags of between $6 and $9 on them. My final price was .25 cents each. Gee, I wish that knitting and I were not foes. My eyes caught a pile of fabric in the back corner. Like a moth to a flame, I floated to the light. My arms were so full of wonderful colors and prints, that I grabbed a box. It was quickly filled. Upon checkout, the man offered to charge me $4 for the box. I agreed. He then gave me the 50% discount... final price $2 for the whole box.
There is a time for thrifting and a time for crafting. Oh the joy of trying to fit it all in to one day!

How do you find out about these things?? :) P.S. I have a whole bag of mini glue gun sticks I can't use. They're yours if you want them! :)
I can't believe you! That is incredible!!!! I am flying out to see you and we are going thrifting!!!! Another day of awesome finds.
No glue gun! Aaaahhhhh! How did you ever manage!?!??!! You will wonder what you ever did without it!
LOVE the clock too!
Now those are some wonderful finds!!!!What a wonderful sounding sale!! 50% off :O)
I can't believe those prices. I would have bought everything you bought too. I love the yarn, fabric and sweet little clock.
Yarn and fabric are items I would love to find, but rarely see. You certainly hit the jackpot!
You really hit the sale of the century! I didn't know you didn't have a glue gun~~a crafter's MUST have. I have several, I would have given you at least ONE!! :-) BUT you got an awesome deal, so you did ok. A word of caution. I have so many glue guns because I didn't know there were different sizes of glue sticks.
Great finds, great deals! Lucky you!
Oh. . . and I LOVE the clock!
wandered over from apronthriftgirl... i have the same weakness with fabric (you found cute stuff!) and the clock is such a great find. i love when people donate perfectly good stuff that i've been looking for ;) happy glue-gunning, it's a whole new world of possibilities.
Finding crafty stuff is the best! I've found so many useful tools and more fabric than I can ever use. Looking at price tags in retail stores like Michael's is shocking- you saved yourself a bundle.
Wow - great finds with the yarn. I rarely find any yarn that isn't acrylic - yuk, horrible stuff! That fabric looks wonderful too and such brilliant prices.
The fabric is beautiful- and the clock is a perfect lesson in patience. Don't buy retail- wait for the thrift store to bring what you desire for a fraction of the cost.
I cant knit either...and I love yarn so much! However, I can crochet like a mad-woman. Have you tried?
